History of the School
Founded by Claudio Chiarini (President) and
Sandra Thiévent /Chiarini (General Secretary),
Reynald Gentizon, (Member since 2001)
Elena Schaffter (member since 2009)
The Swiss Design Center, located in the heart
of Lausanne as organ of supports for the starting
up of young companies in the field of the design.
He was supported lasting of numerous years by
Swiss confederation (SECO [Swiss State Secretariat
for Economic Affairs], State of Vaud, Lausanne Region
and a large number of public and private institutions),
has played a part in the development of a wide
range of companies in fields such as: architecture,
design, interior, graphics and web design.
Moreover, thanks to the facilities it offers,
it has organised events centred on architectural
exhibition, and industrial and pictorial design.

In 2005 the expertise of the Swiss Design Center was
awarded a quality label (swiss design center label)
recognised by the Swiss confederation. The label is
an ethical charter enabling us to offer official accreditation
to courses and expertise in the educational and professional domains.
M. Mario Borreggine président de l’Association Suisse des Architectes d’Intérieur
pour la région romande VSI-ASAI (ancien responsable de module, à l'école
d'architecture de Montpellier, pour la formation RABA, Réutiliser et Aménager les
Bâtiments Anciens, et ancien directeur pédagogique de l'école Athenaeum
Lausanne) a été nommé en 2009, directeur de l'école Swiss Design Center
dans sa nouvelle orientation d'enseignement.
